This week, Stefano Pessina, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, WBA, spoke at the Forbes 2020 Healthcare Summit. The Summit brought together the world’s top executives and thought leaders who are moving beyond simply addressing patients’ medical conditions and diseases, to treating the whole person. It also highlighted the latest technology and strategies that address healthcare.
Pessina took part in the “Making the Patient Primary: New Models of Care” session alongside Tim Barry, Chief Executive Officer of VillageMD. Together, they discussed the expansion of the Walgreens and VillageMD partnership, which includes plans to open more than 40 new Village Medical at Walgreens full-service primary care clinics by the end of summer 2021.
During the panel, Pessina said: “Joining forces with VillageMD is a great testament to our WBA strategic priority: building neighborhood health destinations.
