This month, a new Boots Hearingcare clinic opened its doors to customers with a state-of-the-art experience. The flagship World of Hearing store in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire, UK, aims to revolutionize the way people think and experience hearing care, including a new immersion and experience room and self-screening suites that enable customers to experience the benefit of wearing hearing aids in many different – and typically challenging – environments.
To help break down some of the barriers surrounding hearing care, the store has removed the need to book an appointment for the suites, making it easier and more convenient for customers to assess their hearing health, book a hearing test and get expert advice.
The transformation of the former Boots Opticians store was led by Sonova, a global leader in hearing care innovation. The World of Hearing store will also serve as a platform for Boots Hearingcare to test new hearing technology and services in the future.
“Traditionally, hearing care hasn’t been an interactive experience,” says Rob Skedge, managing director for Boots Hearingcare UK and Ireland. “That’s something both Boots Hearingcare and Sonova recognize needs to change if we are to break down the stigma that surrounds the topic of hearing care. It will truly be a fantastic experience and an amazing example of what we see as the future of audiology.”
