If you joined the virtual event to celebrate WBA’s 2022 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, you know that at WBA we believe that healthy communities and a healthy planet go hand in hand, and that we need both to create more joyful lives through better health. In the past fiscal year, our WBA team is proud to have achieved significant milestones in pursuit of our ESG goals.
Globally, we have steadily reduced our carbon emissions by 21.2%, continued to remove plastic from our products and packaging, diverted 54 metric tons of waste from landfill and expanded recycling programs worldwide. A combination of these efforts resulted in WBA becoming a Champion of the Sustainable Procurement Pledge, an international nonprofit organization driving awareness and knowledge on responsible sourcing practices, and WBA being named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the third year in a row.
