This week Farmacias Ahumada has been offering free HIV testing in seven stores across Chile to honor World AIDS Day. Patients signed up online, in line with health regulations, and then came to the store for their test.
The in-store testing came at the end of a week-long digital campaign to build awareness and understanding of HIV. The campaign was designed in collaboration with Durex LatAm, and included myth busting posts across social media, and a live session on Ahumada’s Facebook page, hosted by Durex, LatAm’s category lead for sexual wellbeing.
This is the latest initiative to come out of Ahumada’s Specialized Pharmaceutical Care Service (SaFe) service which allows tests for blood glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure can be performed, in order to collaborate in the prevention and control of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure in Ahumada stores. SaFe is part of Ahumada’s bigger commitment to be ‘more than a pharmacy’ when it comes to supporting the health of Chile.
