Walgreens Boots Alliance has been merited an Advancement, Commitment and Engagement (ACE) honor from the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) for its innovative Women of WBA business resource group.

Initially established in the U.S., the group has evolved into a global network of more than 1,000 members across Germany, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, the U.S. and the UK, focused on increasing representation of women and people of color across the company. Responding to 2020 global events, Women of WBA has been committed to ensuring that leadership teams, speakers and topics address gender and racial diversity.

“We are honored to accept this prestigious award and position WBA alongside an elite group of progressive organizations who have committed to realizing the full potential of their female talent by fostering programs that deliver impactful and measurable results,” says Kathleen Wilson-Thompson, executive vice president and global chief human resources officer, WBA, and executive sponsor of Women of WBA.

HBA’s ACE Awards recognize companies that are committed to ensuring that gender diversity and leadership opportunities for women are part of their organizational DNA. Recipients of the ACE awards are selected by an independent review panel of healthcare industry leaders for their excellence in corporate internal women’s leadership initiatives. Award criteria include measurable results, business performance, stewardship, execution and sustainability.

The award will be presented on Thursday, Nov. 19, in conjunction with HBA’s virtual annual conference
