In popular culture and media, coming out is often thought of as one single, defining moment in the life of a member of the LGBT+ community. But the reality is that coming out is more of a continuous process, happening in large and small ways over the course of one’s life. It’s different for everyone, every time, but what’s the same in all situations is that the right environment – and supportive allies – can make a big difference.
